Homemade Banana Bread

I love sweets.  I simply cannot feel totally satisfied after a meal without at least a bite of dessert.  I’m usually more of a chocolate, cheesecake, cookie, or brownie kind of girl.  But, after finding this recipe (and licking every speck of leftover batter from the bowl) I have a new favorite dessert.  It must be somewhat healthy since it has fruit in it, right??

Banana Bread:

2 cups flour

1 cup sugar

2 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/4 tsp. salt

1 cup chopped walnuts

2 eggs

1 1/2 cup mashed bananas (about 4 ripe bananas)

1/4 cup sour cream

1 tsp. vanilla

1 stick of butter, melted

Combine flour, sugar, powder, soda, and salt.  Mix well and toss in walnuts to coat.  In a separate bowl combine eggs, bananas, sour cream, vanilla, and butter.  Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients.  Add wet mixture and stir until thoroughly combined.  Pour into greased 9×5 pan.  Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.  Reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake for 20 minutes.  Insert a fork until it comes out clean.
