Eyeliner Envy.

I don’t know if I have some type of weird skin or something.  But, it is so hard for me to find eyeliner that goes on smooth and easy.  I used to find the most amazing shades and would get home and try to use it and it literally wouldn’t write on my eye.  This eyeliner from MAC solved all of those problems.  It is soft and creamy, in shimmery, absolutely *amazing* colors.  Plus, its water-resistant.  (These from ULTA are also really good.  I like to stock up on them when they run them for $1!)

Coconut Date Balls

December 30, 2010 § Leave a comment

I made these on Christmas day following the recipe card that my Grandmother hand-wrote in 1984.  These rich, crispy little treats are the most delicious way to end a meal.  Covered in flaky coconut, they are sure to satisfy anyone’s sweet tooth!

Coconut Date Balls:

1 cup sugar

2 eggs, slightly beaten

1 lb. chopped dates

3 cups Rice Krispies

1/2 cup nuts

Melt dates, sugar, and eggs on stove over low heat until bubbly.  Remove from heat and add Rice Krispies and nuts.  Let cool and roll into balls.  Roll balls into coconut and place on wax paper.  Chill in refrigerator.

Crock-Pot Mulled Apple Cider

December 29, 2010 § 1 Comment

I made this on Christmas day.  I wanted to have something warm and soothing to serve before lunch as everyone came in from the cold.  Garnished with a cinnamon stick, this yummy and spicy treat was the perfect start to an amazing day!

Crock-Pot Mulled Apple Cider:

2 quarts apple cider

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

1/8 tsp. ground ginger

1 tbsp. ground cinnamon

1 tsp. whole cloves

Combine cider, sugar, and ginger in crock pot.  Tie cloves into cheese cloth and place in crock pot.  Cover and cook on low 4 hours.   « Read the rest of this entry »
